There are a number of spaces available in the Library for groups of current HCC students to work together for academic purposes:

  • six group study rooms - room numbers CL211, CL212, CL213, CL214, CL215, CL216;
  • one group media viewing room to view HCC course-related DVDs/videos - room number CL209.

Groups must use the online room bookings tool to request a room.

By reserving a Group Study Room or the Group Viewing Room, you agree to the following terms:

  • All group members must follow the HCC Student Code of Conduct (outlined in the Student Handbook) and treat library spaces, other students, and staff with respect.
  • Only 2 to 6 current HCC students may use a group study/viewing room. Groups with fewer than 2 or more than 6 students, or with non-HCC students, are not allowed.
  • Group workspaces are for academic purposes only, such as group studying or group coursework.
  • Reservation requests must be confirmed within 15 minutes by clicking the link in the confirmation email sent to your HCC student email address. If not confirmed, the reservation request will be automatically canceled by the system.
  • At least two group members must check in together at the Library Service Desk within 15 minutes of the start of the reservation. If group members do not check in, the reservation will be automatically canceled by the system.
  • At least two group members must remain in the room for the duration of the reservation. If fewer than two students remain, the room will be reassigned.
  • Groups must exit the room promptly at the end of the reserved time.
  • This room is not soundproof. Be mindful of your noise level. Headphones are recommended. You may use your own headphones. A limited supply may be available from the Library Service Desk.
  • Unattended personal belongings are subject to removal by Public Safety or library staff.
  • Tutors, classroom instructors, and clubs may not use study rooms.
  • Library staff reserve the right to adjust room reservations to maximize availability. This includes changing rooms, canceling reservations, and reporting violations of these terms or the HCC Student Code of Conduct.

Each group may reserve a room for up to three (3) hours total per group per day.

Interleaving to bypass daily usage limits is not permitted. Library staff reserve the right to cancel any interleaved reservations.
