Individual/pair study spaces are available in the Learning Commons @ Library for individual HCC students to use for academic purposes:
- individual/pair study rooms - room number - CL251, CL252; CL253.
Individuals/pair must use the online room bookings tool to request an individual/pair study room.
Please note the terms & conditions for using individual study rooms:
- all individuals/pairs must follow the HCC Student Code of Conduct (contained in the Student Handbook) - be respectful of library spaces, students around you, and HCC Library Staff.
- an individual will consist only of 1 current HCC student, a pair will consist 2 current HCC students.
- individual/pair work spaces are for academic purposes, such as studying or course work;
- within 15 minutes of the start of the reservation, at least 1 person needs to be present and remain in the individual/pair work space for the duration of the reservation, or the room may be given to another individual or pair;
- be courteous & exit the room by the end of your booking time.
- personal headphones need to be used when listening to audio - you may bring your own headphones or inquire at the Service Desk;
- beverages may be consumed in individual/pair work spaces.
- individual/pair study rooms may not be used by tutors or classroom instructors.
- library staff may need to modify room requests in order to maximize availability of individual/pair study spaces - this may include changing rooms, canceling requests, and/or reporting student code of conduct violations for not following space terms & conditions.
- requests may be canceled at any time to accommodate students who need to use CL251 or CL255 or CL256 to use the presentation media technology that is in these rooms.
- requests must be confirmed using the link in the email sent to your HCC email address.
An individual/pair may reserve a library study space for up to three hours each day - three hours total use in either the Library or Learning Commons.
