Individual study spaces are available in the Library for individual HCC students to use for academic purposes:

  • individual study rooms - room numbers CL239, CL240;
  • study carrels.

 

Individuals must use the online room bookings tool to request an individual study room - study carrels may be used without a reservation.

 

Please note the terms & conditions for using individual study rooms:

  • all individuals must follow the HCC Student Code of Conduct (contained in the Student Handbook) - be respectful of library spaces, students around you, and HCC Library Staff.
  • consist only of 1 current HCC student.
  • individual work spaces are for academic purposes, such as studying or course work;
  • within 15 minutes of the start of the reservation, the student needs to be present and remain in the individual work space for the duration of the reservation, or the room may be given to another individual;
  • be courteous & exit the room by the end of your booking time.
  • personal headphones need to be used when listening to audio - you may bring your own headphones or inquire at the Service Desk;
  • beverages may be consumed in individual work spaces.
  • individual study rooms may not be used by tutors or classroom instructors.
  • library staff may need to modify room requests in order to maximize availability of individual study spaces - this may include changing roomscanceling requests, and/or reporting student code of conduct violations for not following space terms & conditions.
  • requests must be confirmed using the link in the email sent to your HCC email address.

An individual may reserve a study space for up to three hours each day - three hours total use.
