Select textbooks may be available in the Reserves collection shelved behind the Service Desk.

Most materials at the Service Desk may only be checked out for in-library use, usually for one or two hours. Some materials are allowed to go outside the Library, but the borrowing time varies - overnight or 1 week or 2 weeks.

Since these textbooks are provided by faculty members for their courses it is up to the faculty member to decide if the book can be taken outside of the HCC Library.

Textbooks are available on a first come, first served basis - holds may not be place on textbooks.

A current HCC student ID or government issued ID is required to borrow items from the Library - bring your ID to the Service Desk and request to borrow a textbook. You will need to know the class information and/or the title for the book.

Use Books+ (the Library Catalog) to look for books by title, author/editor, ISBN - including textbooks. The first dropdown in Books+ will let you limit to Course Reserves, then the second drop down can be used to choose what you want to search by (Course name, Course ID, Course Instructor).
