Children under the age sixteen are welcome as long as they are accompanied by an adult at all times - children may not be left alone in the Library (or anywhere on campus).

Children under the age of 16 on campus may not be left unattended while attending classes or campus activities. Persons in violation of this may be subject to the penalties of the Family Law Article, Section 5-801, et seq. This restriction does not apply to younger students enrolled under special admission procedures.

Bringing children to class: The college recognizes students may have difficulty with care for their children; however, HCC views the classroom as adult-learning environment, and one that should be free from potential distractions.
