Thank you for your question, and we do understand your frustration. It is hard to achieve balance between the needs of students who want to use the Library for collaborative work and those who simply want a quiet place to study. At times, the noise level can become excessive. If you do feel, at any time, that other voices are becoming too loud, please don't hesitate to let your own voice be heard by coming to the front desk and telling us. We are happy to speak to any loud group on behalf of other students.
In addition, we have a room in the very back of the library that is set aside purely for individual, silent study. We can direct you to it. Also, the African-American Culture Research Library (CL-247, just outside our front doors) usually has available study space and is very welcoming to students.
Thank you again for your concern, and please do continue to communicate with us on this matter.
