Can I save files on library computers?
Answer
You can't save the file on the libary computer, but you can save the file in your StudentWeb account. HCC provides you with 1GB of storage for files related to your educational program of study at HCC.
On Campus:
When logged into the college network, your StudentWeb space will be drive W: - so when you need to save something, you will save your files to drive W: (not the Desktop or My Documents or C:).
For example, if you're in Word:
- Click Save As.
- Near the top of the Save As box, look for the the words Save in:
- Use the pull down box to change to (W:) - this is your StudentWeb account.
- Give the file a name.
- Click the Save button.
To access your Student folder when logged onto the college network, go to My Computer and use the (W:) drive to access you files.
Off Campus:
When off campus, use ftp to access your folder. Instructions for accessing your folders using FTP
