Answer

There are several wonderful databases that feature biographies. The first to come to mind would be Biography in Context. Once you enter the database home page, simply input who you are researching and several types of articles will appear. If you search the reference portion, you will find full and brief biographies of individuals.

Another resource is Academic Onefile. When you enter the home page, input the name and scroll down to the source drop box to find "biography" to limit the search.

JSTOR is a great resource as well. If you use the advanced search option from the "search" box on the home page, input your subject in the first box and "biography" in the second.

American History online, Amercian Women's History, and Ancient and Medieval History also provide biography sections. All of these databases provide full text options.
