Q

Why can't I access African-American History Online database even after logging in to the hcc library?

When clicking on the link, instead of taking me to the database, it takes me to another log in page.

Answer

You can access the HCC databases and electronic resources from off campus, but you will need to log in.  Below is the information necessary to access the resources.  Once you click on the database, you will be asked to log in.

For off-campus locations, you will be asked to log in using your UserID & Password:

HCC Students:

  • User ID is the same as your HCC Express login: your first initial, up to 7 letters of your last name, and the last 4 digits of your student ID (e.g. jdoe1234).
  • Password: Your six-digit birth date, in mmddyy format (e.g. 122692)

If you are still unable to log in, you can contact the help desk at 443-518-4444.

I hope that this answers your question.

  1. This did not answer my question. I said that I had already logged into the hcc library...I was able to look at certain databases, but others brought me to Infobase learning where they asked me to login to their website. Why do I not have access to this database anymore? I was able use it last week, but not now? Again I LOGGED INTO THE HCC LIBRARY FIRST. Please help.
